Up to then - there had been all this forward motion: suddenly - the motion stopped - because Howard stopped.

In fact - he stopped on Top Of The Pops. He decided to express his indifference with the processes involved with selling yourself - not your art - which he was sure about - but your self - by presenting one of the most compelling songs of the rock age standing completely still.
