We have started an irc magazine chatroom.
irc.darkmyst.org is accessbible on DarkMyst.Org.
There are 3 distinct ways to access this :-
- By downloading a IRC client - DarkMyst recommend mIRC.
- By running a Java applet in your browser - follow the "Chat Now!" linkj fromn DarkMyst.
- Going direct.
A direct link may appear soon.
basic instructions
The following are the most basic things I can think of:-
- /server irc.darkmyst.org - connects you to irc.darkmyst.org if you're not there already.
- /join #dataclaw - teleports you into the #dataclaw channel. There's bunches more, like, on darkmyst, #darkmyst , #help , and my own channel, #dataclaw - but you'd probably only be bothered about #dataclaw ;).
- /nick HeartOfTheCrowd - would change your nickname you use to HeartOfTheCrowd. Some nicknames are protected via something called NickServ, but that's another story.
- /quit and /exit - both disconnect you
- /me <message> - results in an action. For example, if you type "/me laughs." it results in "* HeartOfTheCrowd laughs."
There, that's the basic commands. If you ask me, it's better than the boring Yahoo! or MSN chats without being as complicated as the various MU* clients. (If you don't know what that is, you're lucky, lol).
