went to see magazine on many many occasions one of the most memorable being when a mate told the doorman at the m/cr ritz he was the mgr of Ed Banger and the nosebleeds(supporting)and we just walked in with him!! Great times great band John sadly missed that was real life

Morrisey cover is a great tribute. He is the only person who could sing those lyrics with any real empathy. It is a very faithful tribute, and though you would expect guitar riffs to be identical, because that is crucial to the song, even the drum grooves and fills are faithfully recreated through verse, chorus and middle 8, which is a real tip of the hat to John Doyle, given that Morrisey's drummer is Dean Butterfield, a top US rock session player.

Thrilled like a teenager when I heard of re-issues, which I will faithfully buy, although we all know, that everything that can be released as extras rom the vaults, already has.I have the Rockpalast DVD, but am interested to hear of Amsterdam Bootleg. Are there any other CD's of this nature in circulation ?

@big dummy - various live cd's floating around... as Jem already mentioned there is a good double cd of Whiskey L.A. 1/9/79 with McGeoch in full flow - various others incl. Family Inn, Australia & Club 57 N.Y. are post McGeogh & therefore, in my view, substandard - cheers to CPL for that Floorboards link... sounded good but wish he'd been more adventurous it is 2007 after all
