In the Hall of the Mountain King, Greig (Peer Gynt). Motorcade. Oh Yes. Someone told me.

Fluxus on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38136
But who?

flux on 19:01 24th-May-06 GMT #9f3-38140

Fluxus on 19:01 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38142
Are Magazine over-rated? Have we all been deluded all these years ? Are we all victims of the music press/media culturalisation process ? Is 'Shot by both sides' a classic ? Without the rising guitar scale motive (written by Pete Shelley), would it be anything special? Do we need to rewrite rock history ? Do the writers who create the dominant culture really know ? Was John McGeoch that great a guitarist ? Does 'influence' equate with greatness ? Was Dave Formula all surface gloss and no content ? Could Howard sing ? Art or pretence ? So many questions.....Charles Ives had the answer

Fluxus on 19:01 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38143
as did John Cage

Fluxus on 19:01 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38144

Fluxus on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38145
as did Open Mind

Fluxus on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38146
As did Jacques Derrida

Fluxus on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38147

Fluxus on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38148
and the point I'm making is.......?????

Fluxus on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #f67-38149
there is non point

flux on 19:02 24th-May-06 GMT #9f3-38153
well if you don't like them... as chas 'n' dave regularly used to say 'gertcha'

Fluxus on 23:43 24th-May-06 GMT #243-38163
It's more of a love/hate thing. To quote Duncan:'I've realised that it's the Howard factor that is the barrier that makes Magazine a bit like Marmite. You either love it or hate it' ...gertcha(??????)- says it all really.....

Fluxus on 23:43 24th-May-06 GMT #243-38164
Anyhow.....Grieg and Motorcade? Do I detect a hint at a musical connection here Open Mind?

Fluxus on 23:43 24th-May-06 GMT #243-38165
Perhaps, Gnossienes, Erik Satie........

Fluxus on 23:44 24th-May-06 GMT #243-38166
even a pinch of Bartok - but Grieg, no, no, no, no, no....

Fluxus on 23:44 24th-May-06 GMT #243-38167
Rodgers and Hammerstein. Shot by both sides. What do you think Open Mind ?
