Musings
RUMOUR! Please don't ask me how I heard, and please don't blame me if it turns out to not be true. But, I've heard from a reliable source that Howard Devoto is currently rehearsing a live band for shows later in the year. I don't know if these will be under the name of Magazine or not, but I heard that Malcolm Ross (ex-Josef K) is the guitarist, and that Barry Adamson probably won't be playing. Personally I'll be excited to hear any Magazine songs played by a band fronted by Howard, as I was too young to have witnessed Magazine, but old enough to have heard Luxuria's live versions and to know how good they were. Don't start griping about why's and whether's they should be doing this, and lets look forward to celebrating some great music and some underated heroes that deserve another day in the sun. I'll see you all in the front row! Dave Candler @ on 13:38 31st-Mar-05 GMT #5d6-33720 Interesting. Malcolm Ross is a Scot (see previous reunion rumour thread). You sure you weren't fibbing about a Scottish guitarist, flux? The last time I heard of Ross, he was doing an Our Man in New York thing on Mark and Lard's nighttime Radio 1 show. Very good, too. Sussed guy. Duncan on 13:38 31st-Mar-05 GMT #4af-33721 Hi, me again. The other thing my source told me was that Howard and group were planning to play at Butlins (!). I can only presume he must mean the All Tomorrows Parties festival. I've looked at their website and there isn't currently any mention of them.
