i've also picked up the magazine DVD with the rockpalast show, as well as the promo videos, & it's a great piece of history..well worth it if you're a fan of howard & the band..

I should know this (?) but can anyone tell me where the clips from the 1989 Magazine video are from or where they were filmed? http://www.shotbybothsides.com/mag_prom.htm I've only just acquired a copy after all these years.

Dave Candler suggested that the version of Model Worker on 'Urgh!' (and XTC's Respectable Street) might be the one's from the Melbourne concert I saw. I haven't seen the film (though I will try to now, I remember when it came out), I don't think these are the same performances. Looing over the web, it seems that the performances were recorded in London, Paris, New York and LA; no mention of Melbourne there. If I recall correctly -- and it was a long time ago -- Devoto was wearing grey overalls on-stage. I'm not sure if he wore the same thing each night though. Perhaps if someone has the movie, they could check what he's wearing. I'm really pleased that you mentioned the movie though, I'm quite keen to see it. I was a bit sus about it when it was released because there were a lot of bands on there I didn't think much of. Now, I feel like it's worth a look as an historical document and to remember those times again.

The clip of Magazine performing Model Worker in the film Urgh!-A Musical War was filmed in Chicago on thier 1980 North American tour.

Rumor or truth? Magazine one-off reunion for the 2005 All Tommorrow's Parties festival? Perhaps the April festival curated by Vincent Gallo?

So good to see this site. What a great band they were. BTW Urgh was in LA - they played the Santa Monaca Civic.
