A while ago someone on the board asked if anyone knows if the chords to all Magazines music is available anywhere. I would'nt mind getting hold of all the song chords too. I play in a band and would love to do a few Magazine numbers...or maybe there could be a set up like on the Elvis Costello Homepage where people post thier own chords/ interpretations? What do we all think? Any advice people?

Hannu on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #2f0-31285
Neike, as a satanist, would you enlighten a born-again christian like myself and tell me whether Devoto is a satanist or an atheist.

kafkas_unfulfilling_muse on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #669-31289
Hannu- although the question was not directed at me, does it really matter what Devoto's personal spiritual belief system is? I could look at him and possibly see Buddist, or anything else which doesn't squarely put a deity in the 'drivers seat' of destiny... but something deeply spiritual none the less. Anyone else see this too or am I thinking about it in my own terms of religion as being too much a human serving someone else's purposes thing, rather than what humans must do in order to be good to each other and themselves thing.

the mighty OTB @ on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #0b3-31290
i recken hannu and kafkas etc without the @ (which they always use) are flux. very poor.

Hannu on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #2f0-31293
The reason why I'm interested in whether Devoto is a satanist is simple: I am a christian. I think Devoto is probably an atheist but song titles like Taking Over Heaven are a bit odd for an atheist. Also, I've got a problem with My Tulpa... it's really a disturbing song. The lust Devoto is concealing gets a bit too much if you bother to read the rest of the lyrics. That is, he is talking about a man who collects his fists when Devoto's shadow falls upon his hands and the furniture is made to injure Devoto etc. Get it?

Sandra Green on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #b5f-31294
Openmind- I thought you were leaving the board? You must love us all so much you can't keep away :)

S-G on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #b5f-31295
Hi Kafkas & Hannu. I LOVE My Tulpa but have never bothered to analyse it.If I tried to deconstruct all the lyrics I'd probably drive myself mad:) Isn't a Tulpa a kind of imaginery character? Maybe like a spirit guide? There's a site- www.tulpa.com

Sorry about all this- Hannu- you don't really mean satanist in the true sense of the word do you, like a devil worshipper? Or am I missing something here? Incase you wondered, I'm not religious although I studied the philosophy of religion at school.

Hannu on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #529-31298
Hi Sandra, yes I meant satanist as in worshipping the devil. But I guess Devoto is an atheist who makes complex songs... Taking Over Heaven, The Book and Luxuria are songs that bother me... But I really love Cut-Out Shapes, Back to Nature and Rainy Season etc.

Sandra Green on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #e7a-31299
Hi Hannu. I seriously doubt he's a satanist (sorry this is making me laugh a lot- I have a weird sense of humour). I don't know anyone who is. Earlier you referered to Neike as being one-was that a joke? Sorry- I think I must be missing lots here. Re H.D- I think he's had an interest in Buddhism, as Kafkas mentioned. I'd say atheist but who knows- we don't know him personally. Back to the songs- if I like the tunes then it's good. If the words are offensive then maybe not so good. The main things that bug me in music are sexist gangster rap lyrics. We have several CD's at home (not mine) & I HATE the stuff.

Hannu on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #7e4-31300
Sandra, I think Neike is a satanist... She e-mailed me as Neike Satana and she seems to have some satanistic stuff on the pink gothic website. So, I think she is a satanist. Ask her, if you want to...

Sandra Green on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #e7a-31301
Interesting but I can't see it somehow. Hannu- did you ever sell Beast Box? Really love it now that I have the CD again. I keep playing it while doing the boring housework. Realised I have sound on my the PC but sadly no headphones.

Sandra Green on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #e7a-31302
Sorry- I meant sound on my work PC

Hannu on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #7e4-31303
I still have Beast Box and I intended to keep a copy even if I had sold it. I love Against The Past...

Neike @ on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #30b-31306
Whoah, whoah - I'm gone for a while and this happens. Yes, I'm a Satanist... but it's got nothing to do with devil worship (Diabloism). It's just a form of atheism that champions the carnal, rather than the spiritual, and the ego. Here's some info on Satanism: http://www.religioustolerance.org/satanis1.htm - whether Devoto is an atheist or a Satanist, I don't know, I imagine he has a few satanic traits. However, I'm 100%ly certainly he's not a Diabloist, which was your question. :) As a sidenote, I should add that not all Diabloism is bad, either. There's an interesting Cult who think that as their God is all forgiving, they must appease the devil instead, who reigns over their mortal lives. (A concept I find an interesting take on the bible, though of course, as an atheist alone already, I don't share it.) But I do harbour nothing than disgust for those who harm people (especially kids) and animals in the name of their religion. :/

Neike @ on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #30b-31307
Hannu, I don't know if this will interest you, however, I think that *Noko* is satanic (again, *not* diabloistic). He has a pentagram window in his appartment - there's a picture of it on his website. Would you like the link? (It's not availible on search engines anymore, you need to type it in manually, and I have the URL saved.) =)

Hannu on 17:58 27th-Sep-04 GMT #7e4-31309
Hello Neike... all I can say is that you scare the s**t out of me... Hope that you'll open the bible someday instead of all the crap you're into.

Sandra Green on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #a2e-31310
Re Pentagram- in my experience it can have nothing to do with Satan at-all. I know several pagans & white witches who wear these- people who are into celebrating Mother Earth, helaing others and themselves. All good stuff. Lots of people wear the pentagram & don't even know what it stands for (earth, air, fire , water, spirit). Anything that hurts ANYONE is bad...in my opinion.

Sandra Green on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #a2e-31311
Sorry- that came out wrong- the pagan law is 'do what you will but harm none' and I feel that if people are harming others then that is bad.

Neike @ on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #bb3-31316
@Hannu: Well, that's not very mature of you. I've never attacked your belief, why do you attack mine? I find that a sad level to stoop to, given how I harboured nothing but good will and friendship to you up to now. If you have no problem with atheism, why do you have a problem with 'the crap I'm into', when it's exactly that? I would suggest reading the page I linked to before drawing conclusions. :) Okay?

Neike @ on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #bb3-31317
@Sandra: Wiccans tend to wear a pentacle (pointing up), not a pentagram (pointing down). But the meaning barely differs, so of course you're right about it being worn by people who have no clue what they wear. Re: Pagan law - I don't adhere it. The only long-term convincing reason not to harm anyone, logically speaking, is that they may in turn hurt you - and that is what I live by. Self-preservation as the highest law. It's amazing what sort of altruistic appearance can come from that :) I've always marvelled at the (spiritually seen) good deeds true egoists do, contrary to what people expect of them.

Neike @ on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.noko440.com/gallery.html] #bb3-31318
Back to the topic at hand, I discovered Satanism shortly before I discovered the pentagram in Noko's appartment. I think I would have been thouroughly FREAKED OUT if I'd not known anything about it. I quite possibly would have disaffiliated with everything to do with Apollo 440 and Luxuria - and this without *being* a paticularily spiritual person. I would have been apalled. Devil-worship (except in the form of the Cult I described) seems a stupid, disgusting past-time to me. Sorry, but it's one of my soapboxes. I really cannot stand people like that. >_<

kafkas_unfulfilling_muse on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #397-31319
Hannu, I am deeply disturbed by your persicution of Neike, as she has said, she has done nothing bad and has not shown anything but good will towards you. I am really hurt that you should say so much bad against her and become very intensely jugdemental about HER belief system.. after all that is exactly what it is. You seem bent on shoving your beliefs upon all of us, Neike in particualar and that doesn't set well with me.

kafkas_unfulfilling_muse on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #397-31320
RE: Pentagrams- right side up = spirit over the elements, 'upside down'= material elements over the spirt; for some a symbol of pure logic and reason against the intangible... aka 'the spirit' aka 'not the flesh'...

kafkas_unfulfilling_muse on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #397-31321
Ok my First reason for coming to post: I went to the 'skivmässen' today... a kind of conglomeration of record stores and cd sellers all in one huge place... I FOUND Luxuria on a 45rpm Sickly Thug & I...*hurrha!* and bought it. I was looking for that large one Pound but there was no time.. I found at least one thing I was looking for.

Hannu on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #7e4-31322
All right, sorry Neike! I'm just a little worried about what will happen to you after your life here on earth comes to an end. You were kind enough to e-mail me about the Idiot mp3s and so on. Nothing wrong with your conduct, but your beliefs are really frightening.

Neike @ on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #bb3-31323
@Hannu: I'm sorry if I scare you. It is not my intention. I like you a lot. :) And I'm glad I didn't scare you away from this forum-guestbook-hybrid. I should add that I do wish I could believe in an afterlife - I just can't. I envy you for that. And I thank you for your worries, it does move me, even if I do not agree.

Neike @ on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #bb3-31324
@kafkasa: Wow, you lucky fish. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I have far too few Luxuria records to rightfully run a Luxuria Shrine. And now, back to some healthy envying of your persona... *envy, envy, envy* ^_^ (Well. I wouldn't be able to play it anyway. I only have a CD player. T_T)

Hannu on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #529-31331
The final Mansun 3-cd compilation Kleptomania is out and it contains Railings, Everyone Must Win and Shot By Both Sides. It's quite cheap, only a bit over the price of one cd. Is there any way that I could get an MP3 of the Railings version where Howard sings the lead instead of duetting with Paul Draper? Please, please help me...

Neike @ on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT [www.pinkgothic.com/luxuria/] #1cd-31332
@Hannu: Sorry, I've a lot in mp3 format, but not that. (I'd be interested in it, too, mind, for my digital collection).

Sandra Green on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #790-31335
Is this different to Railings that Mansun brought out a few years ago with HD on it? Also- who's doing SBBS- Mansun??

Hannu on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #6ab-31337
The version of Railings that appears on Kleptomania is the same one that appeared a few years ago on a Mansun EP. Devoto and Draper duet on it. Shot by both sides is performed by Mansun with lead guitarist chad on lead vocals.

Sandra Green on 17:57 27th-Sep-04 GMT #446-31338
Thanks Hannu- I have the EP but not heard Mansuns SBBS. Saw them live three times from 96-97.
