More news on John McGeoch. I emailed Paul Lambden at Rykomusic and this is the reply I got back .. 'Hello, John is actually signed to Rykomusic, a music publishing company. Rykomusic now control the rights to all the songs (or pieces of songs) he has written to date. The rights were previously controlled by Virgin Music Publrs. & Chrysalis Music amongst others. I can tell you that right now John is working on the theme music to a TV programme for Channel 5 but otherwise is in semi-retirement. Prior to this, John had formed a band called Pacific with John Keeble ex-Spandau Ballet and some demos were recorded although the band split before securing a record deal'

Does anybody know in more detail the circumstances surrounding Johns departure from the Banshees? I have heard things skirting around it for years but never anything concrete. Word was that it was some kind of breakdown which may have been (LSD) substance abuse oriented and the stress of touring all rolled into one. The only comment I ever heard from Mcgeough about it all was that he saw Siouxsie and co as a bunch of sycophants. Anyone got more of the inside story on this?
